House of Flora

House of Flora specialises in avant-garde headpieces. Sometimes more art than fashion, founder Flora McClean produces collections of hats and jewellery twice a year exhibiting in London and Paris.

Her ideas are driven by structures in nature as well as textures from architecture and new processes in manufacturing. Flora is influenced by strong geometry and historical figures as well as concepts in modern art. She works in a variety of different materials from PVC, Perspex and felt to leather, wood veneer and nylon.

Flora has established a reputation as an innovator. As well as producing a commercial collection for stores worldwide, she works closely with designers and stylists on a commission and consultancy basis to develop new concepts and specialist innovative pieces for distinguished fashion press, international fashion shows and fashion and beauty advertising campaigns. Leading photographers Paolo Roversi, Nick Knight and Arthur Elgort have all shot her designs.

Flora is also a guest lecturer in Millinery at The Royal College of Art in London.
