Korean born Steve Jung & Yoni Pai have carved a reputation as fashions newest prodigies. The design duo has shown at Off-schedule London Fashion Week for four seasons, receiving international recognition.
Having met in Korea 10 years ago, Steve and Yoni shared a dream to start their own label, which became a reality when they moved to London to continue studying fashion.
Since winning the ‘Best Menswear Award’ at CSM BA graduation show in 2006 and Samsung Fashion Design Fund in 2007/2008, Steve J & Yoni P have gone from strength to strength, being featured on the front covers of many international titles and also creating a diffusion range for Topshop, all in a short space of time since launching.
With their cutting edge approach to fashion, eye for detail and eclectic cultural references, Steve J & Yoni P are fast becoming the ones to watch in the fashion world. Delicately balancing their trademark style of modern quirkiness, with luxurious fabrics and tailored elements, Steve J & Yoni P presents an energetic and versatile collection for AW 09.
Finding inspiration in British Youth Culture, Steve J & Yoni P have interpreted cultural elements such as check power dressing and 80’s motorbike look, into a contemporary and modern look. The collection uses Red and Black to form the base palette for the collection, with Ski-Blue and Purple as an accent colour. The collection is added to further by the juxtaposition of English Wool and Cotton, the Steve J & Yoni P staple fabrics for this season.
